Counselling for Children and Families on the move
Change can be hard - let's go together!
Change can be hard - let's go together!
I'm so excited to meet you! Come on in and take a seat! Coffee? Tea? Would you like to colour or scribble while we chat? Make yourself at home!
It can be a really big move to reach out and seek the hand of someone to walk alongside you, so well done! The 'Lets' part of Let's Go Counselling ensures that you will not be alone on the journey you're on, and that we'll be moving together wherever that may be in the world or in your life, facing the challenges and celebrating the joys.
I'm Alison Bury, born in Tasmania where my first counselling sessions were conducted with friends walking home from school and my love of walking alongside others began. I have over 30 years of lived transitions including moving nationally and internationally in both the diplomatic and missionary worlds, across various cultures. I am passionate about helping children and families navigate the uncertainties, grief, confusion, joy and pain of leaving and arriving somewhere new, whether that may be a physical place or a life stage.
I am a very happy wife and mum to three gorgeous bi-lingual grown up children. I swim, read, write, bake, and love a good coffee with friends, a cuddle with our puppy, and awe soaking in nature.
I have a warm, person-centered, creative approach to therapy. Adapting to your needs and the person you are I draw from a range of evidenced based interventions including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). Ahead of any interventions or therapies, I seek to see, hear and understand YOU! I provide a non-judgemental safe space in a comfortable, cosy environment.
